How To Fold A Waterbomb Base

1. Fold a square of paper in half, bringing opposite corners together. Unfold, then rotate the paper so that the first crease is vertical to you. Fold in half corner to corner once more, adding a pre-crease that is perpendicular to the first crease. Unfold once more.

2. Turn the paper over, and make a further pre-crease, folding the paper in half side to side, then unfold and turn back over to the original side. The diagonal creases will appear as valleys, while the remaining crease, which needs to be arranged horizontally across the paper, is a mountain.

3. With one finger, push down on the paper at the centre. The creases in the paper will flex gently, and the center will show indications of becoming concave.

4. Take hold of the paper between fingers and thumbs of wither hand along the vertical side edges, at a point just below the horizontal crease made in step 2.

5. Using the existing lower-diagonal creases, carefully bring the two sides in to meet, the sides flattening down to lie upon the central triangular area at the lower half of the paper.

6. Squash the upper layer of the paper flat, so that all the creases collapse into position, forming a pyramid. The completed Waterbomb base.
